Recently, mid Pandemic, I returned to my hometown of Philadelphia. I bring years of experience in printing, design and leadership in education. My professional mission is to continue to be inspired and informed by the natural and cultural diversity of this amazing world we live in. To be part of a team that shares my passion to uplift art, design, education, as well as my love for color, construction, experimentation, sustainability and the artisanal approach that comes from far off places. To work with people who celebrate and live by creative curiosity every day. I aim to translate what I love to do into professional and financial success, while inspiring others to do the same.

As a textile designer and educator, I am fascinated with both the design and technical aspects of the print process, the two melded in 1997 while teaching printing techniques and a textile software at FIT and Parsons School of Design. During this time I was deep into CAD work for apparel and home companies and designing and printing fabric samples.

Work experience in fabric printing has not only fueled my love of textile design but it has also brought me to an intersection with cultural anthropology in countries around the globe.  I  have received grants, residencies and paid positions, traveling throughout South America, Asia, and the Caribbean. I lived in Oaxaca, Mexico and then Mexico City for 13 years working in various capacities. First as a consultant for American brands, supervising printed fabrics from sample to volume. Then as a design consultant with organizations that create economic opportunities for artisan groups that maintain textile/fiber craft traditions that are marginal or at risk. Lastly, I was the Department Chair of Fashion and Textiles at Universidad Centro, Mexico’s premiere design school.

While living in South Florida from 2014-2020, I continued to print fabric in my studio, give textile workshops and I was the Chief of Education at The Armory Art Center, a community arts center. My dual ability in slow design as a screen printer and the handmade sector, and in fast design as a CAD specialist and print production, has become a constant in my career in design and education.

I can work with you and your team in:

·       Development of original fabric print designs for apparel and home. Including quality control at strike off and small printed yardage.

·       Education Administration for institutions and programs dedicated to learning about design, diversity and business strategies.
